Answers to questions to help you understand plan benefits

When you’re ready to enroll, visit your employer’s enrollment website.

If you are new to UnitedHealthcare and currently receiving treatment for a specific medical condition by an out-of-network provider, you may be eligible for Transition of Care (PDF). This means you can continue to receive current treatment, using your current doctor, for a limited time. For more information, please call us or have your doctor call us at 1-888-297-0878.

UnitedHealthcare does not require a referral from your primary care provider (PCP) to see a specialist who is in our network. To find a specialist, use our network provider search.

Preventive care is covered at 100% when received by a network provider. Preventive care includes an annual wellness exam, screenings and immunizations based on guidelines set by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and determined by your age, gender, overall health status, personal and family health history and health plan.

Similar to your doctor and other health care professionals, there are labs in our network that will help save you money when you use them for lab services and blood work. Once you become a member, visit to find a network lab.
